Black out Roman Blinds

One thing that I've been looking into lately are blackout Roman blinds, you know the type that has blackout material attached to the back side of the blind, so that when your blind is completely closed, or pulled down it doesn't allow light to seep through the blind into the room.

The main room I'm interested in putting this in at present is our guest room. It's due for some new blinds, mother-in-law is about to come for a visit and she's a very light sleeper. So, I thought Roman blinds would look great in the room, but they'd also have to keep out the early morning light or I'll have a crotchety mother-in-law to deal with!

From my research it seems that providing the roman blinds are measured and fitted inside the window frame it should work out okay, and should keep out much of the morning light. Of course, the days are getting longer and the sun isn't up as early as it used to be, (when it shows itself that is), but still I think buying blackout roman shades is a pretty good idea. Guess we'll see how effective they are in another week.
